Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, and I was invited to do a book signing at Rediscovered Books in downtown Boise because of the Hispanic theme of my book, “CHICANA.” I sat along side of well-known children’s author, Judy Cox, who was signing her book, “Cinco de Mouse-O!” We each took turns reading to the customers in the store from our books.
The downtown businesses were celebrating Cinco de Mayo on the blocked-off street in front of the bookstore, and there were lots of people enjoying the block party. Warm 70 degree weather, music, food, Mexican dancers – what’s not to enjoy?
All in all, it was a fun night. We sold some books, got to meet a lot of great people, and enjoyed the celebration. I hope you enjoyed Cinco de Mayo in your own way.
That sounds like such a charming day. I bet there’s nothing like reading your book aloud and signing copies for eager readers! That’s one of the things I look forward to when I have a book out. Congratulations on publishing Carmen!
